Tomorrow night, at 7pm, Ottawa Fury FC kick off their much-anticipated 2018 season with an away match in North Carolina against the Charlotte Independence.
While last year was undoubtedly a massive disappointment for Fury fans, after having reached the NASL Final in 2016, this season begins with a fresh perspective and a club loaded with promising, young (predominantly Canadian) talent, with some Fury veterans and newcomers from abroad leading most of us to wonder, just how good can this 2018 Fury squad be?
Starting tomorrow, we’ll get the chance to find out.
Earlier this week, the Fury announced that home games this season will be broadcast online and radio, via “FuryTV” (AKA YouTube) and TSN 1200, respectively, with post-match shows broadcast over Facebook Live. It appears as though the only coverage for away matches will come from USLSoccer.com, meaning presumably that Fury fans will have to listen to horrible homer broadcasts. Home matches will also be broadcast in French on the radio over at 104.7 FM.
To kick off the start of the season in style, Stony Monday Riot, one of Fury FC’s Supporter Groups (SGs) is hosting a watch party tomorrow, Saturday, March 17th, 6pm at Vimy Brewing Company (1-145 Loretta Avenue North, kinda between Wellington West and Little Italy). Kickoff is at 7pm, so be sure to arrive early to meet fellow Fury fans and grab a seat in a prime location.
Enjoy the game tomorrow, and COME ON YOU FURY!
